Speakers Announced for the PFATS Session at the NATA Meeting!

Since 1986, PFATS has sponsored an educational workshop during the NATA Clinical Symposium. The educational session is named for Ronnie P. Barnes, the Sr. Vice President of Medical Services for the New York Football Giants. The PFATS Education and Research Committee coordinate this workshop and speakers include with PFATS members and Team Physicians. Discussions usually include case studies, and timely topics related to athletic health care in the National Football League.

For athletes who want to gain mass, decrease fat, or both, timing is everything. Weight goals should be addressed well in advance of the season and again at the end of the season. Athletes need to set realistic and achievable goals that do not compromise sports performance, and they need to be committed and willing to make the necessary changes in their diet.
