Long time Green Bay Packer's Head Athletic Trainer Pepper Burruss wins Fain-Cain Memorial Award

To Packers Team Physician Dr. Patrick McKenzie, the order was backwards. Two years ago, when Packers Head Athletic Trainer Pepper Burruss presented McKenzie with the Jerry “Hawk” Rhea Award as the league’s physician of the year, McKenzie felt the equivalent trainers’ honor, known as the Fain-Cain Memorial, should have gone to Burruss first.

The San Francisco 49ers announced that Jeff Ferguson has been promoted to Vice President of Football Operations. Having previously served as the Director of Football Operations and Sports Medicine since 2011, Ferguson oversees the 49ers sports medicine, strength and conditioning, team logistics, grounds keeping, equipment and video operations departments.

Miller honored by Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society

Sayers John Miller, III, assistant professor of kinesiology at Penn State, has received the Most Distinguished Alumni Award from the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) for 2013. He will be presented with the award on February 20, 2013, at the PFATS annual meeting to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
