PFATS, Medco Sports Medicine and Cramer Team Up To Donate Supplies To High School Athletic Training Rooms

The Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) was proud to partner again with Medco Sports Medicine (Medco), the leading supplier of athletic training and sports medicine products, and Cramer Sports Medicine (Cramer), a leading manufacturer of sports medicine products, to ensure that athletic trainers at the high school level receive essential equipment and supplies to provide student athletes with athletic care through the PFATS High School Initiative.

As the official Education Partner of PFATS, Medco and PFATS established the PFATS High School Initiative in 2018 as a way to give back to the communities in which our membership lives and work. Again this year, Medco contributed donations to four communities. The 2021 communities selected to receive $2,000 in essential supplies and equipment were the Cincinnati, the Miami and Washington.

“As the leading manufacturer and distributor in sports medicine, Medco is dedicated to giving back to local communities in partnership with the PFATS membership,” said Mike Finke, Medco General Manager. “Through the High School Initiative, we can help schools get the tools they need to keep our country’s young athletes healthy.”

Dan Willen, Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Cincinnati Bengals, will meet with Finneytown High School athletic department to present them with their donation which will included supplies such as athletic tape, first aid supplies, resistance bands. Miami Dolphins Head Athletic Trainer, Kyle Johnston, was on hand July 21, 2021 to present Miami Norland Senior High School’s Athletic Director and Principal with their donation at Baptist Health Training Complex. On Friday, July 23, The Washington Football Team Athletic Training department, led by Head Athletic Trainer Ryan Vermillion, presented Eastern Senior High School in Washington, D.C. with their donation.

“PFATS and our partnership with Medco Sports Medicine and Cramer Sports Medicine is invaluable,” said PFATS President Reggie Scott. “The support they give to our membership as our official Education Partner, and the positive impact they are having on the communities we live and work in through programs like the PFATS High School Initiative, shows their commitment to our profession and the importance they place on student athletes’ health and safety. We are proud to have teamed up with them since 2018 on this initiative and look forward to continuing it for many years to come.”
